So I was reading scriptures this morning and came across the part where the Savior is saying "Judge not that ye be not judged" the thought that crossed my mind at that point was-well aren't we our harshest critics and judges? And I made a connection. Between our harsh judging of ourselves, and the cautioning the Lord gave to us, to not judge. We often restrict our own growth, because we say that our actions are impossible to negate. Passing judgments much harsher than our Lord and Savior would ever have to, simply because we have lost love for this soul, ourselves. We don't trust in the atonement, the saving grace of God, because we don't trust ourselves. But how can we really trust in ourselves when we don't trust God?
Catch 22.

I have learned too that no matter how heavily I may judge some one it will not change the thing they are within. Some judgment may help myself interact better or keep me safe from some certain things, but it still does very little for the other.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really like your last sentence there. (Amen!)
